After years working in the furniture and interiors industry Joshua Vogel created Blackcreek Mercantile & Trading Co. as a way to explore small scale product design and manufacturing, and to reconnect himself with the practice and idea of handmade goods. All of BCM&TCo.'s products are made by people right here in our Kingston, New York studio. . . lovingly, and with care. We strive daily to get closer in understanding to the elements of our craft, not further removed. We seek to connect good ideas with great materials through simple processes that, in turn, connect our customers directly to the essence of the work. After taking an eight year hiatus from furniture, Joshua launched a collection of pieces under BCM&T Co. utilizing this same ideology.
